John Bourdette, PhD.   A gifted and passionate teacher, John has been recognized 
by students and peers with the WNMU Teacher of the Year in 2002 and 2003,  
President's Partners Excellence in Teaching Award - UCO 1997,  Faculty of the Year,
College of Liberal Arts - UCO, 1996 and Sponsor of the  Year - UCO, 1996.  He is head 
of the chemical dependency  program at Western, and the faculty sponsor and coordinator 
of this Institute.

 

Addictive Process

 

Description of Workshop:  Dr. Bourdette  will provide the participant with information on the common elements of all addictions.  The three stages of addiction will be delineated along with the signs and symptoms observable in each stage.  The concept of addictive personality will be explored, and it’s development  in the addiction process.  This workshop will also deal with recovery issues.
