Where do I get more CEU's?
In order to sit for the exam, you need 276
education hours in alcohol and drug specific training. Six of these hours
must be Board Approved Ethics for Substance Abuse Counselors. If you took Professional Practice Class
at UNM, these 6 hours were included. If you
missed this class, you can take another ethics course.
The
UNM Substance Abuse Studies Program does not provide all of these 276 clock
hours because the assumption is made that you will be attending training at your work site, and other
workshops that will make up for the remaining hours you need. How do you
get more training? It is recommended that you apply as soon as possible
for your intern level license, because you will then get on a State mailing list
for training. In the meantime, you can receive training announcements from NMAEN by getting on our email list.
